Stone Mountain Park

I'm on top of the Stone Mountain. It is the largest exposed piece of granite in the world. How do you go up the Stone Mountain? You can take a tram ride and you can trek. Trekking takes about half an hour to an hour, depends on your pace.

Stone Mountain is a quartz monzonite dome monadnock in Stone Mountain, Georgia. At its summit, the elevation is 1,686 feet (513 m) amsl and 825 feet (251.5 m) above the surrounding area. (source: wikipedia)

Atlanta, Georgia

The first ever city I have gone to in America: Atlanta, in Georgia. I had a great first impression of America because of it. Atlanta is so spread out. Beautifully spread out. That means it's not crowded. The only thing is... you have to drive 30-45 minutes to get to one mall from the other. We stayed with a friend in Alpharetta on our first week in Atlanta. I say, we had such a great host. She was an awesome cook. She made us shrimp scampi, huge lobsters, roast prime ribs, stuffed shell with tomato sauce, and baked french toast with blueberries topped with maple syrup. We were greatly fed. One of the nights, she took us our for a German food.

Alpharetta is kind of on the high-end side. I enjoyed looking at the huge houses. They were really beautiful. Oh well, Deb, our host's house was huge and beautiful too.

Atlanta, compared to other cities, have a mild weather. It doesn't snow often. It does, once in a while. I was hoping that when we were there, it would somehow snow. But the best I saw was the streaks of snow on the roofs and some ice on our porch. I was a bit disappointed to know that it only snowed after we left.

I really had a great time in Alpharetta, Atlanta. The weather came down to -3 when we were there so I had to wear layers. They had a great weather because while it was cold, the sun was up.
